I love the delicate, floral, fruity taste of Rwanda coffee and this lot is no exception!
This coffee is from the Twongere Kawa Coko Cooperative that was founded in 2009. It is still a small Cooperative with 134 members. The co-operative’s President, Thérèse, is very proud that it has a majority of 96 female farmers. There have been impressive improvements in infrastructure over the past year, including a new office and parchment store. The high altitude here as well as the care taken over post-harvest processing has led to consistently high cupping scores. The old coffee beans are being used now for women’s handicraft and sewing classes to help women earn an extra income outside the coffee season.
In Rwanda, it’s the women who are most involved in their households – so when you help them, you help their whole family.
What You Will receive
All of our coffee is freshly roasted by us at our traditional family-run coffee roastery in rural Kent. You will receive a bag of coffee that is very much a premium product, where the aromas and flavours will be exceptionally delicious and remarkably better than what you may be used to from the supermarket.
